We want to ensure that everyone has access to the quality aged care provided at Glenview.

Your access to aged care is means-tested and the Government pays a large portion of the cost.

To be placed on our waitlist, you need these documents:

1. A completed application for accommodation form

2. An assessment conducted by the Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT) call them on 1800 200 422.

3. Assets and Income Assessment form SA 457

This completed form must be submitted to Centrelink. Centrelink will give you a letter when the assessment is complete, then you give a copy of that letter to Glenview.

4. Power of Attorney and/or Enduring Guardianship documents.

When a room becomes available, you and your family will be invited to view it and will have a short time to consider our offer.

There are three categories of accommodation costs

Category 1

No accommodation cost

If your income and assets are below a certain amount, the Australian Government will pay your accommodation costs.

As a guide on 1 January 2024, this threshold is $58,500 in assessable assets and $32,331 in assessable income.

Category 2

An accommodation contribution

If your assets and income are higher you will be asked to contribute to the costs of your accommodation, and the Australian Government will pay the rest.

As a guide on 1 January 2024, the threshold for this category is $197,735.20 in assessable assets and ≤ $32,331 in assessable income.

Category 3

An accommodation payment

If your assets and income are above the thresholds in Categories 1 and 2, you will be asked to pay for the full cost of your accommodation.

A guide to Windsor and Korongee accommodation charges. These prices do not apply to anyone who fits into categories 1 or 2.

Depending on your situation as described below, complete either a SA457 or a SA48 5 form to determine which category you fall into.

Submit your completed form to Services Australia.

The Government will then advise you of your assessment and category.
