What types of Home Care Packages do we support?


Glenview supports all 4 levels of Home Care Packages which are designed to give you the care you need:

Supports people with basic to low level care needs
Supports people with intermediate care needs
Supports people with high level care needs

To find out if you or your loved ones are eligible for a home care package or any other help at home services, call My Aged Care on 1800 200 422. The My Aged Care contact centre will ask you a series of questions to determine if you need an assessment by an Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT).
Glenview also provides private support to any member of the community, not limited to those eligible to a Home Care Package.
All packages are delivered under a Consumer Directed Care (CDC) model.

What is Consumer Directed Care (CDC)?

The key features of CDC packages include:

  • You can control the types of care you access, how the care is delivered and who delivers it to you.
  • They are offered within a restorative and re-ablement framework.
  • You can set your goals such as being independent for as long as possible, staying healthy, or returning to your home after being in hospital.
  • You determine how much you want to be involved in managing your package.
  • Delivering ongoing and formal reviews by your provider to ensure that your package still meets your needs. Remember, if your needs change you will require re assessment by the Aged Care Assessment Team to obtain a higher level of support in your package.
  • Providing you with greater transparency about how your package is funded and how those funds are spent.

Any Government Funding you receive will be directly paid to Glenview. Then your funding is spent on the items that you both have agreed to in the Personal Plan. Once your package commences, you will be send a monthly statement of income, expenditure and the balance of funds so that you can see how the money is being spent.
The expenditure plan in the budget is grouped into three broad categories including:

Which covers insurance and government reporting, organisational overheads, capital costs, ongoing research and service improvement, CDC administrative overheads including staff and IT, developing statements and other consumer communication, establishing contracts with sub-contracted providers, setting up and cancelling appointments.
Our Administration Fee is 27% of your Home Care Package Funding

This includes care planning, set up costs for new consumers, periodic reviews or reassessments, case coordination or case management, provision of support to consumers who elect to manage their package themselves.
Our Case Management Services Fees are between 7%

This includes the cost of direct support provided, this part of the budget should confirm the decisions made in the Personal Plan about what services have been chosen to be delivered or purchased (e.g. nursing, domestic assistance).
All Glenview staff are suitably qualified to provide the best support to you. Glenview offers a competitive hourly rate for all support services provided to clients.
Additional surcharges apply for the use of brokered services, however would only occur by your choosing and understanding of the full costs involved.

Who Pays for the Home Care Packages?

The Federal Government pays the bulk of Aged Care in Australia, however It is expected that you will contribute to the cost of your care where your personal circumstances allow as a basic daily fee.

Providers can charge up to 17.5% of the Aged Care Pension for this fee.

Here at Glenview we want to ensure you are only paying for what you need on a day to day basis and will happily negotiate an amount that works for you.

Income-tested care fee: Depending on the consumer's income, they may also be asked to contribute more to the cost of their care. This extra amount is known as an income tested care fee. The Department of Social Services (Centrelink) will work out if you are required to pay this fee based on an assessment of your income, and will advise you of the amount.

You will not be denied a service you need because you cannot afford to pay for it.
