Need a Break?
Glenview offers a choice of options that can assist families and carers to have a well earned break while knowing your loved one is being cared for by our highly skilled staff in our well appointed, comfortable surrounds
Our cottage respite is located in Boronia which is surrounded by tranquil gardens. It's close to both Bisdee House at Glenview and the Glenorchy shopping precinct. Our guests enjoy bright and airy private rooms with en suites, flat screen TVs and Wi-Fi access. All meals are provided by our on-site executive chefs and can be enjoyed in our comfortable dining area or in a guests' own room. There is also a kitchenette adjoining the lounge area which is open for anyone to use for a cup of tea or a quick snack. We have an outdoor kitchen in our sail garden which is a popular place for guests and their families to enjoy a BBQ on a sunny day.
Our Sensory Garden was opened in 2013 and is the first of its kind in Australia. Our guests can take a walk through and stop at the waterfall, the paddling pool and the tea house.
We have a wide range of activities and outings including our own men's shed, fitness classes, raised garden beds, trips to restaurants, concerts and exhibitions, in fact just about anything you can imagine can be arranged.
Nursing assistance is available and our staff are always on hand to make sure our guests' every need is catered for. It's a great place to relax and recuperate and is a welcome transition between hospital and home. Cottage Respite guests do not need an ACAT assessment and can ring us directly to arrange respite.
We have two spacious respite rooms, for high and low care guests. These rooms have all of the amenities and features of our cottage respite rooms and guests have access to all of the same activities and programs.
Glenview can also assist families who may require other support services through our Provisional Psychologist, Social Work students and Pastoral Care team.
“I was very impressed with the accommodation and level of care I was provided whilst staying at Bisdee House Cottage Respite. I thoroughly enjoyed being here. I met really nice, friendly people. I certainly look forward to coming back sometime soon.” – Irene Bracken
